Hello there, You are here probably because you are starting programming and are confused about the roadmap or just looking for some motivation.
This blog is intended to guide you throughout the process, so let’s get started with my journey.100 days of code is all about challenging yourself and coding for 100 days. Each day we post about our learnings on Linkedin, Twitter, or Github. I have completed this challenge hooray!

MY EXPERIENCE

I was a newbie to the technical world as we didn’t have any exposure to programming languages or information technology in general during schooling.

Then I started learning the C language, but it was difficult to get one on one mentorship even from college because things were taught virtually. One fine day while surfing on youtube, I came across a workshop comprising of a session by Madhav Bahl sir, which motivated me to emphasize Profile Building. I even saw 100 days of code posts on Ananya Tripathi Ma’am and Alisha Shaw Ma’ams profile. My DSC LEAD Avnish Singh Sir motivated me to take up this challenge, Then I decided to take up this challenge.

This 100 days of code not only helped me learn regularly but also made me consistent. It proved to be one of the good decisions, I developed this habit of coding every day without thinking about it. I just started doing it every day. It helped me to gain knowledge as well as good habits and discipline.

I felt incredible and everything seemed to work out until my brother’s wedding and it became even more difficult to take out time and code. There it was, the point where I could’ve just stop with the challenge but my decision was a different one. Again little did I know that this will be one of the best things that could've ever happen to me, forcing me to reevaluate my goals and putting me on a journey of improving myself even more. I decided to take a couple of days off until everything was settled. But I was not going to let anyone stop me from reaching my goals so I continued and today here I am.

Today when I finally finished my 100 days of code, the first two things I felt were feelings of accomplishment and relief. People may ask me why I did it. I didn’t gain things from it — no profit, no forks or stars. But of course, I learned a lot of things from a technical point of view. Also, most of the people that saw me doing this 100 days of code acknowledged me for being consistent and continuing to do it.

MY LEARNINGS

I have learned the C language that included Basics, Functions, Variable Declaration, Definition, and Scope, Datatypes, Storage Classes, and so on. I even started with the basics of HTML AND CSS. I took help of the resources that were available online. I would suggest the website GeeksForGeeks for programming languages and freeCodeCamp for Web development. These resources brought clarity in understanding the concepts.

While Posting daily on Linkedin and Twitter I got to learn a lot and understood the importance of Profile Building. Apart from this the support and appreciation I got helped me boost my confidence.

MY ADVICE

It’s very important to push yourself as much as you’re able. But don’t forget to limit yourself and give yourself a break sometimes. If you reach your limit, you can then call it a day and continue on tomorrow. There were also days when all I did was refactoring and making a new repository. To Start something is very easy but to keep it going is the main challenge and 100 days of code is all about challenging yourself and learning the key to be Consistent. The whole point is all about learning and staying true to yourself.

CONCLUSION

One thing I always believe is that “People may betray you, but hard work will not betray you. Keep sharpening yourself. At the end of the day, you will see yourself reaping the good things that you have sown.”

Stay true to yourself. The point of 100 days of code is to make you learn so be focused more on the learning part.
